Canggu Creative Weekly # 2 | Mindfulness Matters In Uncertain Times

Does your mind ever wonder back to how “Present” it was pre-pandemic?

Could that even be called being present?

When does mindfulness become something we just talk about, post about and pretend about?

Canggu, like a shadow of a formerly glorious, decadent civilisation, was a prime example of overzealous New Age phraseology carrying as much weight as the evaporated hot air in which the words were spoken.

But that’s not to say that it didn’t exist at all, and still doesn’t.

Far from it.

In the ruins of the trendy empire, the noise has all but subsided, leaving a calmer version of the Canggu that was on the precipice.

In our second edition of Canggu Creative Weekly, we want to spare a thought for mindfulness.

For the people that are still here practicing it, sharing their knowledge, staying strong and moving ahead in uncertain times.

Tia was a Coworker at Genesis before the situation really kicked off.

She was also the first of our members to question the logic of business owners, trapped in tunnel vision, keeping the Genesis Coworking Hub open on the verge of a pandemic.

It was then that we knew that Coworking, for an indeterminate period of time, was over.

We realised that we had to close, and were the first in Canggu to do so… (if only bills could be payed in brownie points).

But that wasn’t what Tia was after necessarily.

Sure, a productive work space with other creatives is great.

Amazing, even.

But confronted with apocalypse-lite, it’s a luxury.

What is a necessity for a burgeoning YouTuber is a film studio.

The life coach with a soothing Welsh accent is a prolific creator.

From eBooks to videos, consultations to The Academy - Tia is on an empowered mission to help people realise their true potential.

When you’re impassioned, and have gone to hell and back in ones own journey of realisation, sharing the tips, tricks and lessons is more than job.

It’s a purpose.

Connecting to an ever expanding network and developing her insights can only be done with brevity and collaboration.

It’s been a pleasure helping an enlightened lady on the daunting path to producing her new YouTube channel.

Kartika is a Hypnotherapist and founder of Maja Healing - a place that began as her office, but grew into a hub for healers on the island.

There is no clearer authenticity of a healer than such a gravitational pull.

Her story is truly global.

Living across continents, she’s lived in as many countries as languages she speaks (five).

However, there was nowhere else where she was going to set up her healing business.

Home.

Her psychology background was only the beginning.

She wanted to go deeper.

Kartika’s holistic healing has helped many people deal with unresolved trauma, and her one-session-solution is a professional therapy that is refreshing in the land of part-time, phoney shamans.

Of course, a now disparate clientele - more in need of her their trusted healer than ever before - needed the comforting sound of her reassuring voice more than ever.

It was our pleasure - ney, duty - to help set up her recording, as well as editing and mastering her audio, so her voice can be delivered directly to the subconscious, wherever you may be in the world.

If Enlightenment is like everyday consciousness but two inches above the ground, then these ladies might as well be wearing high heels.

Being in the presence of these enlightened souls is not just a reminder of the practice of self-care, calmness of the mind and acceptance of what is - but a shinning light on The Path to self-actualisation.

We’re confident that their creations, plans and purpose are pandemic proof.

We’re also pretty sure they can walk on water.
